SORCAR Update #3

"The world is mud-luscious and puddle-wonderful."  - E.E. Cummings

SORCAR Racers,
Countdown time!  Tomorrow we will be at race HQ with no real connection to email.  Any last minute questions should be sent out today. Here is race day schedule and location again.  Also--a suggested and required gear list.

Schedule
7:00am: Registration and TA opens.
8:00am: Navigation overview.
8:30am: Introductions and Pre-race meeting.  Come prepared with questions and be ready to take notes.
9:00am: Race start.
12:00pm: Race finish.  One point will be deducted for every full minute that your team arrives after 12:00.

Directions
The SORCAR will take place in the west half of Raccoon Creek State Park--using Route 18 as the divider.  As you travel on 18 you will turn at Camp Road (there will be GRR signs) and follow that to its end at the Recreation Hall.  Parking is limited, so please park close to your neighbor, and consider car pooling.  Report to the interior of the Recreation Hall for registration and packet pick-up.  Bike racks and TA will be set up outside on the northern edge of the Recreation Hall.  You may rack your bikes and place any gear you will need for the race in this transition area.  Space is limited so please be considerate.

Required Gear

Remember--Adventure racing is a team sport whether you are racing on a team of two, or solo.  Cooperation among racers is critical to everyone's success.  Sharing of food, navigation tips, dry clothes, spare tubes, etc. is highly encouraged.  It is what makes these races so unique, and so special.

Can't wait to start another season!  See you all on Saturday.
